Laura is a senior associate who specialises in civil litigation and family dispute resolution. Her family dispute work focuses on dividing relationship property, resolving issues coming out of the end of relationships, and claims relating to dividing estates. She has extensive experience in insurance law, construction law, contractual disputes, and general civil litigation.

She moved to Christchurch and began work at a boutique litigation firm in the midst of the earthquake recovery.  While there, she was involved in a range of group actions as well as litigation against insurers for residential homeowners. In 2015 Laura moved to a mid-size Christchurch-based law firm and broadened her experience into a wide range of insurance and civil litigation matters. She has acted for individuals, professionals, companies, trusts, and government departments. Laura has appeared in the Family Court, District Court and High Court, and as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. She has also appeared in professional disciplinary tribunals.

By keeping her focus on how to best achieve a solution for her client, Laura gives practical, real-world advice so clients can weigh up their options to make decisions. She is a skilled negotiator and litigator who is experienced in using the Court process and alternative dispute resolution methods to get results for her clients.
